2008 Little Schuylkill One Fly Contest

This is our 7th year for the Little Schuylkill One Fly Contest and it just keeps getting better with teams travelling from as far as New Jersey in hopes of snagging the title of Little Schuylkill One Fly Champions.

Each team of 2 anglers will fish 2 separate beats for 1 1/2 hours each while trying to catch the largest fish and the most fish in inches, the two award categories. So join us for a fun day of fishing followed by lunch, awards, and plenty of stories about "the one that got away!"

The One Fly is April 5th, registration is from 7-8am, a donation of $25 per person will help future stocking and stream improvement projects.

Local and Regional Guided Fly Fishing Trips
Local and regional fly fishing adventures offer many exciting opportunities to get out and explore fisheries in PA and NY. As a testament to the quality of our trips we are often booked full and are proud of the amount of repeat clients that we guide every year. Join us for an adventure and find out why Rivers is in a league of their own.
The Lehigh River

Enjoy a day on the best kept fly fishing secret in the region. Our guides log countless hours each season on this river on foot and by boat uncovering it's secrets and enjoying an experience that rivals famous rivers of the American West. The Lehigh is home to a healthy population of stocked and wild trout and excellent hatches from Late April through Mid June.

Full day float with with shore lunch. Cost for one or two anglers is $360

Full day float in the Lehigh Gorge with with shore lunch. Cost for one or two anglers is $360 plus a $20 DCNR Access fee per person.

Six hour float trip. Cost for one or two anglers is $290

Upper Delaware

The Upper D is home to a huge population of large, finicky trout and the immense population of aquatic insects that they feed upon. It's no secret that these cunning critters will put all of your angling skills to the test but many anglers enjoy the challenge while drifting the serene and scenic Delaware River under the watchful eye of bald eagles perched in the trees above.

Two day float with a shore lunch both days. Cost for one or two anglers is $695 plus accomodations.

Susquehanna River

The Susky has had it's share of problems over the past few years but the large, feisty population of 4-5" smallies we encountered in 2006 has us hopefull for a comeback. Stay tuned throughout the year for updates on the Susky.

A full day with a shore lunch for one or two angler is $360.

Warm Water Fly Fishing Trips

Difficult fishing on the Susquehanna in past years had us fishing several warm water impoundments, a few that are managed for Trophy Bass, and we have decided to share the fun. Fly fishing lakes and ponds in properly outfitted boats for bass, walleye, muskies, pike , and pickerel is a blast and a great alternative to the Susquehanna or when the trout fishing slows down. Offered late July through August.

A six trip float for one or two anglers is $290 (Limited Availability)

Walk & Wade Trips

Variety is the spice of life. It's also the key to quality trout fishing opportunities on a year round basis. The following is a list of streams that we wade fish regularly. Together they provide us enough variety for us to fish for trout 12 months out of the year.

Lehigh River Gorge
Little Schuylkill
Yellow Breeches
Bear Creek
Tulpehocken Creek
Little Lehigh
Letort Spring Run
Mud Run
Clarks Creek
Wild brookie streams

Join us for a week of some of the finest fly fishing in the American West as we take in the breathtaking scenery of the Gallatin River (which boasts one of the highest populations of trout in the US), drift down the Yellowstone River throwing large hopper patterns to big fish and explore the endless riffles of the Madison River. Your hosts Joe DeMarkis and Lee Hartman have fished this area for 11 seasons and will lead excursions to different waters throughout the week. This adventure includes a float trip, all meals, ground transportation in Montana and accommodations at the Trout Club with private access to the Gallatin River.

This year's trip is July 28 to August 4. Cost is $1895 per person.

Alaska - The Alagnak River

Our 10th year and it keeps getting better. This Alaskan Adventure is based at Captain Charlie Summerville’s lodge on the Alagnak River with amenities to include comfortable cabins with electric, hot showers and indoor modern bathrooms.

Big Rainbows on dry flies and streamers - June 8th to 17th
June 8 marks the start of trout season on the Alagnak River. It is also the time when the giant rainbows drop out of the lakes, undisturbed by the salmon runs, offering the fly angler an opportunity for top water action with large dry flies & mouse patterns…or swing a bib streamer around and hold on!
Cost per person $4900.

This is the season of variety and plenty - August 19th to 26th
Plenty of wildlife, salmon and trout! Several species of salmon are in the river at this time including Silvers (Coho). The Rainbows, Grayling and Char are gorging themselves on salmon eggs and the Silvers are smashing anything that goes by them taking large streamers and egg patterns without hesitation. Cost per person is $4900.
