Gun Dog Training

Training a gun dog is something that is better done right the first time. From starting puppies to advanced field and water work, Rivers Gun Dog Training programs are designed for the hunter and the Hunt Test enthusiast. Field work is conducted at our private preserve where under the guidance of our expert trainers, instruction is tailored to the specific requirement of each dog. Our coaching programs are designed for the gun dog and handler, covering all aspects of gun dog training including equipment, commands and dog psychology.

Fees and Training Programs
 
Field Evaluation - $75
• 1/2 hour program designed to identify your dogs’ strong points and were he needs work
• 3 step training action plan

Private Coaching
• $50 per hour plus birds. Travel expense applied off-site.
• Mid week progress evaluations
• Training assignments
• Training handouts
 
Classes for the dog and owner. Depending on the number of dogs, each class your dog(s) will be brought out and trained in separate sessions with a rest period between each session. During the dogs' rest periods, discussion and demonstrations.

Multi Handler Coaching Program - Train with a friend
• $180 per 2 handlers plus birds, 3 to 4 hour session
• $270 per 3 handlers plus birds, 5 to 6 hour session
• 1 to 2 dogs per handler. $20 for each dog over 2
• Travel expense apply off-site
• Maximum: 3 Handlers
 
Each dog will be brought out and trained in 2 to 3 separate sessions with a rest period between each session. During the dogs’ rest periods, you will observe. Includes mid-week progress evaluations via email, training assignments & training handouts
